About Our School
About Our School
The Temple City Unified School District is proud to share the news about the expansion of our early childhood education programs. We understand how important it is for working parents to choose a quality preschool. For this reason, the Temple City Early Learning Academy (TCELA) is committed to offering a structured program that will help your child develop and thrive while putting your mind at ease. Each of our staff members is dedicated to whole-child development and quality childcare in a nurturing environment. We thank you for partnering with us on your child’s early childhood education journey.
TCELA provides a developmentally appropriate, safe, supportive learning environment where a diverse population of children can play, learn, and explore together. We believe that our students learn best when they are having fun. By learning through play, they will build on their social, cognitive, language, physical, and emotional development. We adopt the research supporting how high-quality preschool programs prepare students for future success. During early childhood development years, children can develop a love for learning when caring adults cultivate their social and cognitive abilities. Based on this research, TCELA delivers an early childhood education program that is safe, socially supportive, and cognitively engaging in a nurturing environment.
Director's Welcome
Dear Monarch Family,
Welcome to Temple City Early Learning Academy (TCELA)! My name is Mickie Wong and I am a proud alumna of Temple City Schools– Emperor Elementary, Oak Ave Intermediate, and Temple City High School. My passion for working with children led me to earn my B.S. in Child and Adolescent Development, specifically Early Childhood Education from California State University, Fullerton. I further obtained my M.A. in Education from Brandman University, where I studied Administration and Leadership in Early Childhood Education.
I have had the opportunity to work with children (from infants through high school) and Early Childhood Education– Professionals for over 10 years. My philosophy aims to foster children's developmental domains: physical, cognitive, language, social, and emotional. I believe that with proper guidance, children will develop their own internal controls, a positive sense of self, and problem-solving skills. I am committed to crafting an educational experience that is engaging and fun for our children!
Thank you for choosing our program and welcome to our TCUSD family!
Sincerely,
Mickie Wong, M.A. Education
